Si alguna de las juntas presenta una fuga, el crudo sale por el orificio de ventilaci\u00f3n antes de llegar a la zona de trabajo situada aguas abajo. Esta configuraci\u00f3n es obligatoria seg\u00fan el art\u00edculo 2.12 de la norma ASME PCC-2 para cualquier trabajo en caliente en tuber\u00edas en servicio que transporten fluidos inflamables por encima de su temperatura de autoignici\u00f3n. Este m\u00e9todo se utiliza ampliamente en operaciones de perforaci\u00f3n en caliente y de cierre de tuber\u00edas para permitir la modificaci\u00f3n de las mismas sin necesidad de paralizarlas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En el caso de los oleoductos de crudo a altas temperaturas, superiores a 150 \u00b0C, los elast\u00f3meros FFKM ofrecen la m\u00e1xima fiabilidad para el cierre de l\u00edneas mediante DBB, gracias a su resistencia superior a la degradaci\u00f3n t\u00e9rmica, a la deformaci\u00f3n permanente por compresi\u00f3n y a la agresi\u00f3n qu\u00edmica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-double-block-and-bleed-dbb-line-stopping-for-150-c-crude-pipelines-elastomer-selection-guide\">Sistema de cierre de l\u00ednea \u00abDouble Block and Bleed\u00bb (DBB) para oleoductos de crudo a 150 \u00b0C o m\u00e1s: Gu\u00eda de selecci\u00f3n de elast\u00f3meros<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>En los oleoductos de crudo que operan a temperaturas superiores a 150 \u00b0C, para lograr un cierre seguro de la l\u00ednea mediante el sistema \u00abDouble Block and Bleed\u00bb (DBB) se necesitan elast\u00f3meros capaces de resistir la degradaci\u00f3n t\u00e9rmica, la deformaci\u00f3n permanente por compresi\u00f3n y el ataque qu\u00edmico agresivo. El principal reto radica en encontrar el equilibrio entre la recuperaci\u00f3n el\u00e1stica, la resistencia a la deformaci\u00f3n permanente por compresi\u00f3n y la compatibilidad qu\u00edmica. Este art\u00edculo aborda los aspectos f\u00edsicos del fallo de las juntas a altas temperaturas, los criterios de selecci\u00f3n de elast\u00f3meros basados en datos, los procedimientos de verificaci\u00f3n paso a paso y comparaciones con casos reales para ayudarle a lograr un aislamiento absoluto que garantice la seguridad en los trabajos en caliente aguas abajo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-is-dbb-line-stopping-and-why-does-temperature-matter\">\u00bfQu\u00e9 es la parada de la l\u00ednea DBB y por qu\u00e9 es importante la temperatura?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>El cierre de tuber\u00edas mediante el sistema \u00abDouble Block and Bleed\u00bb es un m\u00e9todo para aislar un tramo de tuber\u00eda utilizando dos elementos de sellado independientes con una cavidad ventilable entre ellos. En aplicaciones est\u00e1ndar, los elast\u00f3meros como el NBR o el HNBR funcionan adecuadamente. Sin embargo, cuando la temperatura del crudo supera los 150 \u00b0C, estos materiales sufren una escisi\u00f3n y reversi\u00f3n aceleradas de las reticulaciones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A partir de los 150 \u00b0C, la energ\u00eda interna de la cadena polim\u00e9rica aumenta exponencialmente. Esto da lugar a dos mecanismos de fallo: la deformaci\u00f3n permanente por compresi\u00f3n y la relajaci\u00f3n de tensiones (p\u00e9rdida de la fuerza de sellado). Nuestro laboratorio de ensayos a alta temperatura ha llevado a cabo m\u00e1s de 1.000 ensayos de integridad de sellado a 150 \u00b0C, 175 \u00b0C y 200 \u00b0C utilizando muestras reales de petr\u00f3leo crudo. La deformaci\u00f3n permanente por compresi\u00f3n se midi\u00f3 seg\u00fan el m\u00e9todo B de la norma ASTM D395, y el aumento de volumen seg\u00fan la norma ASTM D471. Los datos muestran que un tap\u00f3n de HNBR est\u00e1ndar pierde el 60% de su carga de sellado original en 6 horas a 150 \u00b0C, mientras que un compuesto de FKM debidamente formulado conserva el 85% tras 24 horas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-does-crude-oil-chemistry-accelerate-elastomer-failure\">\u00bfC\u00f3mo acelera la composici\u00f3n qu\u00edmica del petr\u00f3leo crudo el deterioro de los elast\u00f3meros?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>El petr\u00f3leo crudo es una mezcla compleja de hidrocarburos alif\u00e1ticos, compuestos arom\u00e1ticos, \u00e1cidos naft\u00e9nicos y compuestos de azufre. A altas temperaturas, estas sustancias qu\u00edmicas se vuelven m\u00e1s agresivas debido al aumento de la actividad molecular. El efecto de hinchamiento que producen los compuestos arom\u00e1ticos en los elast\u00f3meros es especialmente peligroso. Una junta hinchada puede parecer intacta, pero en realidad pierde presi\u00f3n interfacial porque la matriz polim\u00e9rica se expande hacia el exterior en lugar de concentrar la fuerza contra la pared de la tuber\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Se producen simult\u00e1neamente tres mecanismos principales de degradaci\u00f3n:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Envejecimiento t\u00e9rmico:<\/strong>\u00a0La cadena principal del pol\u00edmero se degrada, lo que reduce la resistencia a la tracci\u00f3n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Extracci\u00f3n qu\u00edmica:<\/strong>\u00a0Los plastificantes y los componentes de bajo peso molecular se filtran<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ataque por sulfuros:<\/strong>\u00a0El sulfuro de hidr\u00f3geno presente en el crudo \u00e1cido forma especies que destruyen las reticulaciones<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Nuestra experiencia sobre el terreno en un proyecto de oleoducto en Oriente Medio lo demostr\u00f3 claramente. Tras 8 horas de parada de la l\u00ednea DBB a 158 \u00b0C utilizando juntas est\u00e1ndar de HNBR, el orificio de ventilaci\u00f3n presentaba una filtraci\u00f3n de crudo a un ritmo de 12 gotas por minuto. Tras su extracci\u00f3n, el elemento de sellado hab\u00eda perdido 40% de su dureza original seg\u00fan el dur\u00f3metro y presentaba grietas superficiales. Posteriormente, esa misma l\u00ednea se aisl\u00f3 con \u00e9xito utilizando un sello de FFKM que funcion\u00f3 durante 36 horas sin que se registrara ninguna fuga apreciable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-which-elastomers-are-qualified-for-150-c-crude-service\">\u00bfQu\u00e9 elast\u00f3meros son aptos para su uso con crudo a temperaturas superiores a 150 \u00b0C?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan las directrices del art\u00edculo 2.12 de la norma ASME PCC-2 y nuestra base de datos interna sobre relajaci\u00f3n de tensiones (elaborada a partir de m\u00e1s de 1.200 intervenciones sobre el terreno con inspecci\u00f3n de recuperaci\u00f3n documentada), hay tres familias de elast\u00f3meros que cumplen los requisitos para el cierre de l\u00edneas DBB a alta temperatura. A 150 \u00b0C, el FKM conserva propiedades mec\u00e1nicas \u00fatiles durante un m\u00e1ximo de 72 horas en condiciones de servicio severas. El mecanismo de sellado se basa en su resistencia relativamente alta a la deformaci\u00f3n permanente por compresi\u00f3n en comparaci\u00f3n con los elast\u00f3meros no fluorados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Datos clave de rendimiento del FKM en aplicaciones DBB:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Retenci\u00f3n de la resistencia a la tracci\u00f3n tras 24 horas a 150 \u00b0C en estado bruto: 78-85%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alargamiento a la rotura tras el envejecimiento: 120% (original: 180%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Aumento del volumen de crudo dulce: de +8% a +12% (rango aceptable)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Presi\u00f3n m\u00e1xima de seguridad en la toma de purga cuando est\u00e1 sellada: 150 psi<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Sin embargo, el FKM presenta una limitaci\u00f3n fundamental. Por encima de los 180 \u00b0C o en presencia de inhibidores de corrosi\u00f3n a base de aminas, se produce la deshidrofluoraci\u00f3n. Esto libera fluoruro de hidr\u00f3geno y provoca una r\u00e1pida fragilizaci\u00f3n. Para tuber\u00edas con variaciones de temperatura superiores a los 180 \u00b0C o con mezclas de inyecci\u00f3n qu\u00edmica agresivas, el FKM resulta insuficiente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Aviso de fallo cr\u00edtico<\/strong><br>El uso de FKM a temperaturas superiores a 180 \u00b0C o en crudo con alto contenido en compuestos arom\u00e1ticos aumenta considerablemente el riesgo de fallo de la junta debido a una r\u00e1pida deformaci\u00f3n permanente por compresi\u00f3n y a la degradaci\u00f3n qu\u00edmica. Los datos de campo muestran que la probabilidad de fallo aumenta dr\u00e1sticamente tras un periodo de entre 12 y 24 horas en estas condiciones.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-when-must-you-specify-ffkm\">\u00bfCu\u00e1ndo hay que especificar FFKM?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>El perfluoroelast\u00f3mero (FFKM) sustituye todos los enlaces carbono-hidr\u00f3geno por enlaces carbono-fl\u00faor, lo que le confiere una inercia qu\u00edmica casi total. Nuestras pruebas demuestran que un tap\u00f3n de FFKM a 200 \u00b0C en crudo arom\u00e1tico 100% mantiene la fuerza de sellado durante m\u00e1s de 100 horas sin degradaci\u00f3n apreciable. El coste del material es aproximadamente entre 8 y 10 veces superior al del FKM, pero en situaciones cr\u00edticas de trabajo en caliente en las que la vida humana depende de un aislamiento absoluto del DBB, el FFKM es la \u00fanica opci\u00f3n \u00e9tica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ejemplo pr\u00e1ctico:<\/strong>&nbsp;Una refiner\u00eda del sudeste asi\u00e1tico necesitaba detener el flujo en una tuber\u00eda de crudo de 24 pulgadas a 172 \u00b0C para soldar una conexi\u00f3n de derivaci\u00f3n. El permiso de trabajo en caliente exig\u00eda un periodo de aislamiento de 48 horas. Gracias al uso de juntas de FFKM, el tap\u00f3n DBB logr\u00f3 una estanqueidad total en el puerto de purga durante las 52 horas que dur\u00f3 la operaci\u00f3n. Nunca se debe dar por sentado que una junta est\u00e1 intacta bas\u00e1ndose \u00fanicamente en su instalaci\u00f3n. La norma ASME PCC-2, art\u00edculo 2.12, exige un protocolo de verificaci\u00f3n en tres pasos antes de comenzar cualquier trabajo en caliente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-step-1-initial-mechanical-set-confirmation\">Paso 1: Confirmaci\u00f3n de la configuraci\u00f3n mec\u00e1nica inicial<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Tras insertar el tap\u00f3n de bloqueo de l\u00ednea y colocar los elementos de sellado, anote la posici\u00f3n del tope mec\u00e1nico. Nuestros t\u00e9cnicos de campo utilizan un calibre digital para medir la distancia entre la superficie frontal de la carcasa y el indicador de tope. Esta medici\u00f3n de referencia permite detectar cualquier desplazamiento posterior que pudiera indicar un deslizamiento de la junta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-step-2-double-block-isolation-test\">Paso 2: Prueba de aislamiento de doble bloqueo<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Presurice el orificio de ventilaci\u00f3n situado entre los dos elementos de sellado con un gas inerte (nitr\u00f3geno) hasta alcanzar una presi\u00f3n de l\u00ednea de 50%. Un sello DBB que funcione correctamente mantendr\u00e1 esta presi\u00f3n sin p\u00e9rdidas durante un m\u00ednimo de 15 minutos. Si la presi\u00f3n desciende m\u00e1s de 2% en ese periodo, significa que uno de los sellos, o ambos, tienen fugas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Criterios de prueba aceptables seg\u00fan nuestra norma interna de control de calidad y aseguramiento de la calidad:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ca\u00edda de presi\u00f3n \u22641% en 15 minutos (sellado herm\u00e9tico)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ca\u00edda de presi\u00f3n de 1 a 21 TP3T en 15 minutos (aceptable si se supervisa)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ca\u00edda de presi\u00f3n &gt;2% en 15 minutos (rechazo: retirar e inspeccionar las juntas)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-step-3-thermal-stabilization-and-retest\">Paso 3: Estabilizaci\u00f3n t\u00e9rmica y nueva prueba<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Tras la prueba inicial, espera 30 minutos a que el elast\u00f3mero alcance el equilibrio t\u00e9rmico a la temperatura de la tuber\u00eda. La deformaci\u00f3n permanente de la junta aumenta a medida que el material se calienta. Vuelva a realizar la prueba en el orificio de ventilaci\u00f3n utilizando la misma presi\u00f3n de nitr\u00f3geno. Si la segunda prueba muestra una p\u00e9rdida mayor que la primera, se est\u00e1 produciendo una degradaci\u00f3n t\u00e9rmica activa. Esto indica que o bien se ha seleccionado un elast\u00f3mero inadecuado, o bien la temperatura de la tuber\u00eda supera los par\u00e1metros nominales de la junta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u00bfSe puede utilizar l\u00edquido detector de fugas en el orificio de ventilaci\u00f3n durante la prueba?<\/strong><br>S\u00ed, pero solo despu\u00e9s de la prueba de presi\u00f3n con nitr\u00f3geno. Aplica un l\u00edquido detector de fugas compatible con altas temperaturas (con una resistencia nominal de hasta 200 \u00b0C) en el racor del orificio de ventilaci\u00f3n. La aparici\u00f3n de burbujas indica que hay una fuga activa. Sin embargo, ten en cuenta que algunos l\u00edquidos provocan el hinchamiento de los elast\u00f3meros. Prueba primero en una zona peque\u00f1a.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-are-the-limits-of-dbb-line-stopping-at-high-temperature\">\u00bfCu\u00e1les son los l\u00edmites de la detenci\u00f3n de la l\u00ednea DBB a altas temperaturas?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Una evaluaci\u00f3n honesta de las limitaciones genera confianza y evita fallos catastr\u00f3ficos sobre el terreno.
