North China Oilfield Pipeline 219 Emergency Rescue Project Successfully Completed!

Recently, persistent heavy rainfall in North China triggered floods and geological disasters across Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei. A critical DN200 crude oil pipeline operated by North China Oilfield in Wen’an, Langfang, was at severe risk. Had the flood ruptured the pipeline, causing a crude oil spill, it would have not only disrupted production but also exacerbated the disaster, leading to unthinkable consequences.

After emergency discussions, the crude oil management unit decided to install two additional emergency shut-off valves along the pipeline. These valves would allow immediate isolation in case of a breach, minimizing leakage while maintaining normal system operations. Upon receiving the rescue order, our company activated emergency protocols overnight. Project Manager Chen Hao organized a technical briefing before swiftly leading the engineering team to the site. Meanwhile, the construction supervisors, Yao Yuanjun and Lu Shaoliang, were appointed to oversee on-site operations.

At 10:06 PM on July 26, 2025, a 6.8-meter truck loaded with emergency supplies raced through the stormy night toward Wen’an. At 11:04 PM, a second truck followed, and by 12:14 AM, a 9.6-meter truck joined the convoy—reinforcements converging on the crisis zone. Upon arrival, work began immediately. By 3:04 AM on July 27, the excavation for the operation pit was complete, followed by slope reinforcement. At 4:27 AM, welding teams assembled and began installing the T-joints—each step executed with precision under immense pressure.

The most nerve-wracking challenge was a low-lying section threatened by floodwaters and relentless rain. Despite muddy roads, stuck vehicles, and nighttime construction, the team persevered, demonstrating unwavering resolve.

After three days and nights of relentless effort, the breakthrough came at 8:20 PM on July 29—downstream sealing and installation were completed, marking a full victory. The project eliminated risks for the crude oil management unit and delivered critical support to Xiongan New Area’s flood response, earning unanimous praise from stakeholders.
